The Perfect Guy (2015) Review
Before I dive into any reviews, let me jot down my initial impressions after watching this film. I caught “The Perfect Guy” last night. It’s decently entertaining and serves as a way to while away the time. Admittedly, part of my enjoyment stems from being a fan of some of the actors, and I’d willingly watch any movie they’re part of. The character development leaves much to be desired. We’re never really given insight into what makes the villain tick, apart from a fleeting monologue by the detective. The lead actress’ closest pals feel like cardboard cutouts, and their friendship lacks any genuine depth.
On the whole, this movie is pretty superficial, lacking the kind of depth that draws you in. I’d say only die-hard fans of Sanaa Lathan, Morris Chestnut, and Michael Ealy should give it a shot. Fortunately, there’s plenty of eye candy to feast your eyes upon.
